ABOUT 1776 WEALTH

Founded on Entrepreneurial Spirit

Bringing together the courage to pursue ambitious goals with strategic thinking and disciplined execution

Most wealth managers haven’t risked everything on an idea, scaled a team through chaos, or navigated the sleepless nights that come with real responsibility.

We have.

Built by an Entrepreneur, for Entrepreneurs and Executives

As a former 82nd Airborne Army officer, founder Sean O’Toole learned firsthand that “hope is not a strategy and failure is not an option.” The lessons from his experiences dovetailed with Adam Smith’s groundbreaking work published in 1776, The Wealth of Nations, which established the modern framework for economic freedom, enterprise, and the creation of wealth on a scale never before imagined. We chose the name 1776 Wealth to honor that spirit of innovation and possibility, and to remind ourselves daily that our clients’ prosperity is our highest purpose.

Many wealth advisors have spent their entire careers as employees of large firms, following scripts, “gathering assets” and selling the firm’s products. Sean deviated from that road to choose a different path, one that aligns with the journeys of 1776 Wealth clients: taking risks, building businesses, navigating crises, and understanding what it really means to have everything on the line. This shared experience creates a level of trust and understanding that our clients value most.
After his military service, Sean began building businesses. He learned firsthand that building wealth and managing wealth require completely different skill sets.

When business leaders came to Sean for advice about managing their wealth, he saw the same problems everywhere: advisors who didn’t understand entrepreneurial complexity, cookie-cutter solutions for unique situations, and reactive strategies instead of anticipatory planning.

So he built 1776 Wealth with one mission: create the independent, fiduciary wealth management firm he wished had existed when he was building his own companies.

Why 1776?

Adam Smith published his work The Wealth of Nations in the year 1776. Those teachings were the fuel for the American Revolution. It’s about the courage to build something from nothing, respecting the economic realities of business. The courage to risk everything for your vision.  1776 represents the entrepreneurial spirit that drives both our clients and our approach.

Our Mission:

To proactively maximize wealth for “High Net Work” individuals and families, thinking ahead of their needs so they can focus on their passions.

Our Vision:

To be the premier multi-family office for entrepreneurs and executives who understand that true wealth management means having someone anticipate your needs before you even know they exist.

In her current role as COO, Deanna manages the operations and people of 1776 Wealth.
